For many residents here who are, or have personal ties to, military veterans, GreenTree offers an entirely unique homelike feel. In fact, some of the residents already lived here once, years ago.
That’s because this special GreenTree is literally located on the site that—until decommissioned in 1995—was the Ft. Harrison military base in Lawrence, Indiana.
Today, the area still retains some of the base’s physical history, including refurbished housing and the newly privatized officers’ club.
Quite often, residents like to visit Ft. Harrison State Park, where they can enjoy regular fishing trips, as well as the nearby Castleton area for all its shopping and activities. With Pendleton Pike right around the corner, it’s also not unusual for residents to make an entertainment excursion into downtown Indianapolis.
